Organic Gardening Project

Sustainable Seeds seeks to expose youth to interactive learning of mathematics, science, and the environment through the design and maintenance of an urban organic garden through hands-on indoor and outdoor activities, students  learn the process by which scientific experiments are designed and conducted, and recognize the importance of the scientific methodology in the exploration of topics such as pollination, water and soil quality, vegetation type, alternative energy, and composting.

The Sustainable Seeds Activity Guide originated because of a desire to expose youth to the ways in which different types of foods, affect our environment and health and get them acquainted with types and methods of alternative   energy resources. The Guide is task oriented to teach about the basic elements sustainable gardening and the study of local inhabitants of a natural habitat as it relates to the environment.  This Guide can be used alone, or in conjunction with regular maintenance of a garden.
